Competition Rules
By registering for a BattleCode account, you agree to adhere to the following competition rules:
- An individual can be a member of no more than one team.
- If a contestant chooses an inappropriate or offensive nickname, we (the directors) reserve the right to alter the nickname or disqualify or ban the contestant.
- Any code submitted by a team must be the work solely of the members of that team.
- Any code submitted becomes property of the 6.370 competition.
- Any malicious code (such as code that takes down the Java VM, or code that isn't in the spirit of the competition) will result in disqualification. If you're not sure what counts as "in the spirit of the competition", please email 6.370-chair at mit and ask.
- We reserve the right to alter the BattleCode gameplay at any time. While we will try to keep changes minor, infrequent, and as early in the competition as possible, we make no guarantees with respect to any of these.
- We reserve the right to disqualify and/or ban any user who acts outside the spirit of the competition and/or damages the reputation of this competition or of MIT. Disqualification from any tournament is solely at the discretion of the 6.370 directors. We will of course only disqualify contestants if we feel that there is good reason to do so.
Privacy Policy
- We do not display the full names or email addresses of registered contestants without their consent.
- We do not distribute any personal information, including that provided via web registration or MIT course registration to third parties without the contestant's consent.
